Zenghui Jiang, born 12th April 1989 in Henan, China, received his Bachelor degree in Physics on 19th June 2020 from Leibniz University Hannover in recognition of his thesis. His Bachelor thesis is entitled “Automated Projection Measurements for Polarization-Entangled Photons“.

In his thesis, Zenghui Jiang worked on Python modules to control a voltage source for liquid crystal variable retarders, obtain measurement data from a polarimeter and obtain measurement data from a time tagging unit. Based on the developed python classes he measured the optical properties of four different liquid crystal variable retarder at different rotation angles. This was followed by building two polarization projection setups based on liquid crystal variable retarders, which can be used in the future for fully automatic quantum tomography measurements on polarization qubits of photons.

Muti Liu, born 3rd January 1994 in Shijiazhuang, China, received her master degree on 10th August 2020 from Leibniz University Hannover in recognition of her thesis. Her dissertation is entitled "Tuning the Optical Properties of Colloidal Quantum Dots".

In her thesis, Muti Liu explored two possibilities to control the optical response of colloidal QDs: coupling with plasmonic structures and tuning the optical properties with strain. After conducting a comprehensive test of the optical properties of FAPbI3 colloidal QDs, the enhancement of radiative brightness was achieved by coupling FAPbI3 QDs with plasmonic nanostructures. By working on the nanomembrane transfer, which is the first step for successfully tuning the optical properties with strain, a device for nanomembrane transfer has been designed and a transfer process has been developed, laying the foundations for the subsequent stain-tuning experiments.
