On April 23, 2026, the research groups of Prof. Lin Zhang, Prof. Fei Ding, and Prof. Michael Zopf opened their laboratories to eleven interested students as part of Girls'Day/Boys'Day. Under the motto "Experience how tiny semiconductor structures create great things for the technology of the future", the participants received an introduction to the potential applications of single photons in quantum technologies such as quantum communication and quantum key distribution, as well as an overview of current research in the field of energy storage. They also worked in the laboratory and took on some practical tasks. We sincerely thank our guests and are already looking forward to the next Girls'Day/Boys'Day.
