Doctoral thesis on quantum technologies receives award

Dr. Michael Zopf from the group of Prof. Fei Ding won the first place in the Quantum Future Award 2020 for his PhD thesis entitled „Semiconductor-generated entangled photons for hybrid quantum networks“.

Since 2018, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research has been awarding the Quantum Future Award to outstanding Master's and doctoral theses that deal with applied quantum technologies. This year, the final of the award took place publicly during the Berlin Science Week. Ten finalists present their work to a high-ranking jury with representatives from politics, industry and science. The winners of the 2020 prize were announced immediately afterwards.
