Lab tours for EuPhO participants

On Monday, June 19th 2023, the research groups of Prof. Ding, Prof. Oestreich and Prof. Gerhardt have offered guided lab tours to participants of the European Physics Olympiad. Many groups of future young scientists have used the opportunity to visit our laser laboratories. In the research group of Prof. Ding, they have looked into state-of-the-art research in solid state quantum optic topics, like using single photon sources for quantum communication. The participants experienced setups to determine single photon character and photon indistinguishability, and to transmit and detect secure keys in a lab-based quantum key distribution experiment.
