The research groups of Prof. Oestreich and Prof. Ding from the Institute for Solid State Physics have jointly organized a winter school on solid-state quantum photonics at the Lutherheim Conference Center in Springe from November 26th to 27th.
During the Winter School, all group members had the opportunity to present and discuss their research progress in detail. The presentations were enriched by the participation of our newly appointed Prof. Ilja Gerhardt, who is an expert in quantum optics with color centers and single molecules. He gave an introduction to his previous works and also discussed his future plans in Hanover. The synergy between the three groups was envisioned.
Despite the current corona restrictions, the success in organizing the winter school has paved the way for future winter schools, which hopefully can be organized in a more relaxed and extended atmosphere.
